Find wholeness and healing through personal and compassionate care.
Hi, I’m Micah and I’m so glad you’re here!
An important part of the healing process is finding a therapist you feel comfortable connecting and being open and honest with.
Because we all have our own personalities, perspectives, and ways of communicating, finding the right therapist can be an overwhelming process.
Here is some information to help you get to know me a little better: I grew up in Florida and graduated with my MSW from Florida State University. In my professional life I have worked as a child welfare case manager, a crisis therapist and an individual and couple’s therapist. I use my background in working with the community to inform my view of each client and their individual needs. I also utilize research-informed methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and the Gottman Method in my work with individuals and couples.
I truly love what I do and consider it a great honor to walk alongside individuals and couples in their pursuit of wholeness. I want you to be able to recognize your worth and strength and feel confident in your ability to handle whatever may come in life. Starting therapy takes guts and I hope you feel proud of yourself for starting this process. It is hard work to show up for yourself in this way, but it’s important.
You’ve already begun, so let’s keep going! For more information on my specialties, take a look at the services I provide and if you have any further questions, please send an email or set up a free 15 minute phone consultation.
Services
I am passionate about working with those who are experiencing depression and anxiety from stage of life transitions, past trauma, codependency, postpartum, birth and abortion trauma and child loss, as well as couples who are seeking to build a healthy and lasting relationship.

Have you thought “I’m not supposed to feel this way” or “this isn’t how it should be”? These common phrases of women who are struggling with postpartum depression/ anxiety or the aftermath or a traumatic birth experience brings feelings of shame and guilt. This feels different than the “baby blues'' everyone talks about because it’s simply not going away. Maybe you feel crazy and not yourself, something is wrong with you or that you’re a bad mom for feeling this way. You might worry a lot about everything, or you might feel incredibly numb and detached. You want to feel connected to your baby (and maybe feel that any good mother would), but it’s much harder than you anticipated.
-
Has your worst fear become your reality? Whether you never got to hold your baby, only knew them for a few hours outside the womb or held them for months, the grief that comes from losing a child is overwhelmingly painful. You might question if life will ever feel “normal”, or even worth living again. You feel lost knowing how to move forward. Feelings of guilt, depression and numbness are common.
-
Are you the friend that everyone seems to confide in? Perhaps you feel like you always pick the “wrong person” in your relationships? Is it difficult for you to walk away from a relationship that you know is toxic or abusive? You might find it difficult to say “no” or identify as a “people pleaser”. You often feel taken advantage by people in life and ultimately feel resentful towards others. Codependency presents itself in many ways from classic people pleaser to past or current abusive relationships.
-
Do you want a best friend where you support each other’s life goals and dreams? Do you want to create a legacy together? Marriage counseling is a great place to start making these dreams come true. Learn how to communicate without shutting down, yelling and feeling defensive. Discover how to reconnect and build a lasting relationship that is stronger and healthier than ever before. Work through and heal from past betrayals and hurt.

What is therapy?
We all probably have some idea of what a therapy session is going to look like thanks to things like movies, TV shows, and TikTok reels, but those examples are not always accurate representations. Depending on your therapist and your own needs, therapy will look a little bit different for everyone. Therapy isn’t just me asking “how does that make you feel?” and it’s also not all life changing breakthroughs.
Here are some things therapy can include:
Building a positive and healthy therapeutic relationship.
Learning new ways to handle or communicate emotions.
Having a safe place to express and process emotions.
Sometimes having nothing to talk about.
Learning a different perspective.
Becoming more aware of your own thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how they relate to one another.
How long will I be in therapy?
Sessions are 50 to 55 minutes long. We will discuss frequency (weekly, biweekly, monthly) in your first session. The goal is to see each other enough to make progress but not too often that we don’t have much to talk about or it’s not sustainable due to time or financial restraints.
Some clients are in therapy for a few months, others I see for years. This length of time is based on your individual needs and goals which are periodically evaluated and updated.
